Marketing Trainee- Birmingham, England

Learn Marketing by Doing It. Build Skills That Move You Forward.

Marketing is about more than promoting a product. It’s about understanding people, starting meaningful conversations, building trust and helping customers make informed decisions.

We’re looking for a Marketing Trainee in Birmingham to join our team and gain hands-on experience in sales-led marketing, customer engagement and business development.

You’ll work directly with customers, represent campaigns, learn how to communicate value and understand what turns an initial interaction into a lasting customer relationship. The focus is on quality conversations, customer lifetime value and building relationships that benefit both customers and the businesses we represent.

This opportunity is suited to someone who wants to develop commercially, enjoys working with people and is interested in progressing into leadership. You’ll learn through practical experience, coaching and feedback, with opportunities to take on greater responsibility as your skills develop.

What You’ll Get Involved In

  • Represent marketing campaigns and introduce customers to relevant products and services.
  • Engage with customers through face-to-face conversations and promotional activities.
  • Ask questions to understand customer needs, preferences and priorities.
  • Explain products and services clearly so customers can make informed decisions.
  • Build trust through professional communication and a customer-focused approach.
  • Learn how to identify suitable customers and focus on the quality of each interaction.
  • Develop sales and marketing techniques that support customer acquisition and retention.
  • Understand customer lifetime value and why strong customer relationships matter beyond the initial sale.
  • Work towards campaign objectives while maintaining high standards of customer engagement.
  • Attend team briefings, training sessions and performance reviews.
  • Learn how to set goals, manage priorities and take responsibility for results.
  • Develop the communication, coaching and organizational skills needed for future leadership opportunities.

Previous experience in marketing is useful, but it isn’t the only background we consider. People coming from retail, hospitality, customer service, sales, events, reception and other customer-facing positions can bring valuable transferable skills.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys meeting people and starting conversations.
  • Communicates confidently and listens carefully.
  • Is interested in sales, marketing and customer behaviour.
  • Wants to understand how businesses attract and retain quality customers.
  • Is motivated to learn, take feedback and improve.
  • Can work towards goals without losing sight of customer needs.
  • Is reliable, professional and comfortable working as part of a team.
  • Wants to develop leadership skills and take on more responsibility over time.

Training and ongoing coaching will help you build your knowledge of campaigns, customer engagement, sales techniques and team processes.

More Than an Entry-Level Role

This position is an opportunity to build a practical foundation in marketing and commercial development. As you gain experience, you can develop skills in campaign representation, customer relationship management, communication, performance management and team coordination. Depending on your performance and business needs, there may be opportunities to progress into senior marketing, sales or team leadership positions.

You’ll have the chance to learn how a customer-facing marketing operation works from the ground up, understand the connection between customer experience and business growth, and develop skills that can support your longer-term career ambitions.
