Fire Engineer Manchester - #2154026

An established and growing fire safety consultancy is looking for an experienced Fire Engineer to join their team, working across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Fire Engineer who wants exposure to a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use projects, while developing their technical knowledge within a supportive consultancy environment.

The successful Fire Engineer will provide fire engineering advice throughout different stages of the design and construction process.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Producing and reviewing fire strategies

• Undertaking site inspections and fire safety assessments

• Providing advice on means of escape, compartmentation and fire resistance

• Reviewing architectural and construction information

• Working with Approved Document B, BS 9991, BS 9999 and relevant fire safety guidance

• Advising clients, architects, contractors and design teams

• Supporting projects in line with the Building Safety Act and current building regulations

• Assisting with technical reports and design reviews

The successful Fire Engineer will ideally have:

• A degree in Fire Engineering or a closely related discipline

• Previous fire engineering consultancy experience

• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety and building regulations

• Experience producing fire strategies

• Membership of the IFE or progress towards professional registration

• Strong written and client-facing communication skills

• A full UK driving licence
