We're seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join a growing technology team based in Birmingham. The Role
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to security threats across the organisation's infrastructure and systems.
Key responsibilities will include:
Monitoring and responding to security alerts and incidents.
Managing and optimising EDR/MDR platforms.
Supporting the administration and maintenance of firewall technologies.
Monitoring and analysing IDS/IPS solutions.
Conducting regular vulnerability assessments and coordinating remediation activities.
Assisting with incident response investigations and root cause analysis.
Supporting security improvement projects and initiatives.
Producing security reports, documentation, and recommendations.
Working closely with infrastructure and IT teams to ensure security best practices are embedded across the business.
About You
We're looking for an individual with a strong technical understanding of cyber security technologies and a proactive approach to threat management.
You will ideally have experience with:
Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) and Managed Detection & Response (MDR) solutions.
Firewall administration and security policy management.
Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
Vulnerability scanning and management tools.
Security incident investigation and response.
Threat monitoring and analysis.
Microsoft environments, including Microsoft 365 and Azure security tools (desirable).
Security frameworks and best practices.
