Birmingham City Council is the largest local authority social landlord in Europe, with a stock profile of just under 60,000 properties. As a Senior Service Manager for Repairs and Maintenance you will manage the delivery ofthe day-to-day repairs, sundry servicing, gas service and maintenance and void properties to ensure they are completed to a safe standard, within timescales, financial limits, and meeting tenant satisfaction measures.
We have embarked on a change journey to become a high performing social landlord. We are poised to launch an ambitious plan to invest between £180m and £220m in our housing stock each year for the next seven years. Our strategic priority is to improve the condition and quality of our homes for our residents, ensuring they are warm, safe, and sustainable for the years to come.
Additionally, you will be involved in supporting the procurement and mobilisation of new contracts (£1.3 billion) which will go live in April 2026.
As an experienced Manager, with a can-do attitude you will be responsible for providing direction and management, that is inclusive and creates a culture of trust, developing a working environment that is supportive and high performing. You will be involved in shaping and improving the service, ensuring that we are delivering a high quality, value for money service to our residents. You will be able to evidence a proven track record of managing teams, contractors and involving residents to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction, ensuring all regulatory and statutory standards are achieved.
