Role Purpose
The People & Culture Manager is responsible for delivering the Levy UK&I people strategy across the venue.
As a people first business, this role plays an important part in ensuring we treat people fairly, we act with integrity, and we do things the right way.
Reporting to the Venue Director/General Manager and working closely with all heads of department to embed the Levy UK&I culture through employee experience, employee development and employee wellbeing, underpinning effective communication, engagement, and training.
You will lead a results-driven culture, implementing, maintaining, and enhancing our industry leading practices.
Creating the Levy Difference through delivery of Legendary Experiences and Powerful Partnerships to make Levy UK & I at Aston Villa a place of choice for employees.

Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Provide a pro-active based people support function to the heads of department across the venue.
- Advise and coach on people management processes, in line with the Levy UK & I culture and adherence to legal frameworks.
- Develop and implement people strategies and initiatives with continued alignment to the overall Levy UK & I strategy.
- Support with recruitment, onboarding, and inductions, ensuring new team members are smoothly integrated, receiving a legendary experience and great start with the business.
- Work with the L & D Manager and heads of department to identify training needs and provide development opportunities.
- Effectively promote a culture of transparency, honesty, and trust across the team.
- Support the creation of relevant annual budgets and rolling forecasts for venue in conjunction with finance team.
- Measure and review performance targets with the General Manager/Venue Director and the wider team as part of the Growth Performance Strategy (GPS).
- Actively participate in monthly business reviews with General Manager/Venue Director, engaging with key stakeholders.
- Identify areas for improvement, analyse current situation and establish/deliver action plans to resolve.
- Utilise data modelling created by E15 Insights, to monitor, challenge and support venue in driving commercial efficiencies in relation to payroll optimisation and controlling cost of sales.
- Monitor consistency of performance, identify, establish, and share best practice across operational teams to support business growth strategy.
- Review and challenge ETA submissions prior to events to maximise opportunity and performance.
- Interact with functional support specialists, to develop networks between them and venue to drive performance including People, Culinary, Finance, E15 Insights, BUILT and Sales
- Lead, coach, inspire and develop direct and indirect reports to maximise performance.
- Set and monitor performance targets and personal development plans (PDPs) for direct reports.
- Lead the team in developing, managing, and evolving the employee processes and experience that span across the whole employee lifecycle.
- Champion a strong inclusive culture, including thoughtful initiatives, reward & recognition, on-brand communications, and team wellbeing.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders at venue.
- Attend quarterly business discussions with clients and venue team to review current performance and have a forward focus on strategic approach to food and drink delivery.
- Attend a cross section of key events, to maintain client partnership, review operational performance and establish opportunities for improvement both commercially and from a guest experience perspective.
- Identify client interests and where appropriate and within reason, host clients at other Levy UK&I venues to showcase operational delivery and grow client relationship.
- Ensure Compass HSE policy /process is communicated and consistently applied across venues.
- Monitor LTI’s, training compliance, hygiene audits, health, and safety reviews. Conduct regular safety walks within the venue, and in all cases review findings and ensure improvements are made as required.
- Support the implementation of the Levy UK & I sustainability strategy in venue.
- Natural leader, displays maturity, presence, and gravitas to maintain excellent stakeholder management with aligned interpersonal skills to interact effectively at all levels of the business.
- People focussed, engages their team with the vision, values, and strategic direction of the Levy UK&I business. Demonstrates an ability to focus on talent and potential within their team, coaches, mentors, and develops individuals to enable them to grow.
- Dynamic and engaging people first professional with experience in leading, motivating, and inspiring large teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences and commercial results.
- Venue experience, within a variety of complex venues across stadia, arena and confex business models with diverse food & drink experiences
- Strong commercial focus– adept at budgeting, forecasting and effective cost control. Confident to establish best practice approach and adapt operating models to drive growth and control.
- Drives and embraces change, innovates, and leads the change discussion focussing on improvements with key stakeholders, before driving and supporting change at venues.
- Flexible and agile, balances structured approach, resilience, and problem-solving skills with ability to flex and adapt as required. Appreciates need for speed of action and reaction without diluting quality of results.
- Project management and logistics, has experience in delivering projects and/or complex logistic plans in line with time and budget parameters.
