Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Risk Surveyor to join what is a newly formed and growing department. Due to the pivotal role this opportunity has within the wider group, there is a genuine headroom for career progression for the right individual.

Role Overview:

As a Risk Surveyor, you will take ownership of the financial, technical, and contractual management of complex domestic property claims, ensuring that every decision protects both the company’s customers and commercial interests. This role combines project oversight, technical advisory and risk surveying, with a focus on efficient claims resolutions, risk mitigation, and process enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate scopes: Oversee and review the accuracy and appropriateness of remedial scopes proposed by suppliers and approved by internal teams.
  • Warranty oversight: monitor and advise on the validity of claims under NHBC, LABC, or other new home warranty schemes.
  • Recovery maximisation: Guide the interrogation of claim history, liability considerations and recovery potential, with a view to protecting the Group’s best interests.
  • Cost Efficiency: Promote commercial value through best practice validation standards, contractor engagement frameworks, and claims process enhancements.
  • Auditing: Evaluate output on a claim-by-claim basis and through structured audits, ensuring technical compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Guide the interrogation of claim history, liability considerations and recovery potentials.
  • Legal Support: Deliver thorough documentation and expert commentary for use in disputes, particularly those involving build quality, workmanship, or warranty matters/
  • Assist in the development of risk management plans and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Risk Surveying or a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of building pathology, domestic construction methods, and repair techniques
  • Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assessments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Professional certification in risk management or surveying is desirable (RICS, CII, CIOB rtc)
