CNC Machinist / Setter

Location: Birmingham
Pay Rate: £22.65ph, increasing to £25.72ph upon successful completion of training
Shift Pattern: Full Continental

Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist / Setter to join a specialist manufacturing operation in Birmingham, working with titanium materials and precision machining equipment.

The Role:

• Set and operate CNC machinery, including milling and turning equipment, to machine and cut titanium materials.
  
  
• Interpret engineering drawings and work to detailed specifications.
  
  
• Select and install tooling, adjust machine settings and ensure accurate production.
  
  
• Inspect finished products using measuring equipment and complete quality documentation.
  
  
• Maintain production records and carry out routine machine checks.
  
  
• Handle materials using forklift trucks, cranes and lifting equipment.
  
  

Skills and Experience Required:

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling or turning machines.
  
  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  
  
• Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining processes.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  
  
• FLT and crane experience advantageous, although training can be provided.
  
  

Important Information:

• A valid passport is essential.
  
  
• Initial training will take place in France and Spain, so the successful candidate must be able to travel overseas.
  
  
• Following training, the role will be based in Birmingham on a full continental shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off.
  
  
• Specific security screening will be required due to the nature of the equipment and technology used.
