Interim Category Manager - FM - #2189174

As an Interim Category Manager, you will manage category activity within Procurement for a Public Sector organisation. You will help keep purchasing plans clear, practical and aligned with the needs of the organisation during this temporary assignment.

Description

• Manage category activity to support clear and consistent procurement planning.
• Review category needs and priorities, helping teams make informed purchasing decisions.
• Develop and maintain category plans that reflect current business requirements.
• Work with internal stakeholders to understand demand and improve procurement outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve value, process efficiency and supplier arrangements.
• Support sourcing activity and ensure category requirements are clearly defined.
• Monitor category performance and provide clear updates on progress and key actions.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation throughout the assignment.

Profile

A successful Interim Category Manager should have:

• Experience managing procurement categories and category plans.
• Knowledge of sourcing activity and supplier arrangements.
• The ability to review business needs and turn them into clear procurement actions.
• Experience working with stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements.
• Confidence monitoring category activity and reporting on progress.
• Strong organisation when maintaining procurement records and documents.

Job Offer

• 3-6 months contract, with potential to extend
• Daily rate of £450 to £500, dependent on the level of experience.
