The Role
We are hiring within our growing Fund Pricing team. The role involves a range of financial and administrative activities, requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work with numbers.
The Analyst role would suit someone with previous experience in financial services, such as banking or pension operations, or a process-driven administrative environment, who is looking to take the next step in their career. You'll build on your existing experience while developing new skills and knowledge within a specialist area of financial services.
The Fund Pricing team (named NAV Construction internally) is responsible for calculating the daily Net Asset Value of UK investment funds. This involves valuing the portfolio of assets using public information, reconciling bank accounts and investigating breaks, accruing for expenses and income, and signing-off the valuation of each Fund.
You'll need to be comfortable working with numbers, following established procedures, and maintaining a high level of accuracy. The role involves recurring processes, so consistency, organisation and a high level of attention to detail are essential to ensure work is completed accurately and within daily deadlines.
However, this isn't simply about following the established procedures. We're looking for someone who is naturally inquisitive, enjoys understanding how things work, and who wants to develop their knowledge of investment funds and the wider financial services environment over time.
You'll have the opportunity to build specialist knowledge, complete professional qualifications, take on increasing responsibility, and develop a longer-term career within the business.
Key responsibilities include
- Following established procedures and controls, ensuring work is completed accurately and within required deadlines.
- Maintaining and updating accurate financial and investment records across a range of Funds.
- Processing, reviewing, and validating financial transactions and other portfolio-related information.
- Checking and verifying financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Carrying out regular reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues where necessary.
- Identifying errors, investigating anomalies, and escalating issues appropriately.
- Producing routine reports and providing information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Developing an understanding of the team's processes, the wider business and the reasons behind the work undertaken.
- Working flexibly with colleagues to identify changing priorities and adapt to support the overall workflow of the team.
- Participate in the culture of on-going process enhancements and reviews, adding value to the reporting and outputs produced by the department.
A successful candidate is likely to possess:
- Good numerical ability, with GCSE Maths at grade B/6 or above (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a financial services, banking, financial administration or other process-driven role.
- Confidence using excel and other Microsoft applications.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work, with the ability to maintain accuracy when handling repetitive tasks.
- A logical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate issues.
- The ability to follow established processes and procedures consistently, while recognising when something doesn't look right.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions and develop an understanding of the reasons behind the processes they undertake.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- A proactive and positive approach, with the motivation to develop new skills and take on additional responsibilities over time.
- A degree in a related field would be desirable but no essential).
The company supports a policy of continued professional development and relevant qualifications. Employees are expected to increase their knowledge through on-the-job training and professional qualifications.
