Job Role - Property Coordinator
Location - Birmingham
Salary - £30,000 - £32,000 DOE
Job Type - Permanent

Our client, a well-established property business, is looking for an organised and numerate Property Coordinator to join their team. This is a varied role combining day-to-day property coordination with general accounts support, ideal for someone who enjoys keeping things running smoothly and is confident working with figures.
The role

You will be the central point of contact for a portfolio of properties, supporting the property management team with tenants, contractors and suppliers. Alongside this, you will take ownership of key accounts tasks, from processing invoices and chasing rent to reconciling accounts, making sure the financial side of the portfolio is accurate and up to date.

Key responsibilities

Property coordination
  • Act as the first point of contact for tenants, landlords, contractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance, raising work orders and following jobs through to completion.
  • Arrange property inspections, compliance checks and certificate renewals, keeping records up to date.
  • Support new lettings, renewals and tenancy changes, including preparing documentation.
  • Maintain accurate property, tenant and contractor records on the property management system.
General accounts
  • Process purchase invoices, checking them against orders and obtaining approval.
  • Raise rent and service charge invoices, and monitor payments received.
  • Chase arrears and outstanding debts, escalating where necessary.
  • Carry out bank, supplier and tenant account reconciliations.
  • Prepare payment runs and support month-end processes.
  • Produce reports on income, arrears and expenditure for the property and finance teams.
  • Help prepare service charge budgets and year-end reconciliations.
About you
  • Experience in a property, lettings, facilities or block management environment, or an accounts role with exposure to property.
  • Solid general accounts knowledge, including purchase and sales ledger, credit control and reconciliations.
  • Confident using accounting or property software such as Sage, Xero, Qube or Yardi, and strong Excel skills.
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • A clear, professional communicator who can build good relationships with tenants, contractors and colleagues.
  • Proactive and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • AAT or similar qualification is desirable but not essential.
