Role: Senior Service Desk Engineer

Location: Hybrid 2 days onsite per week

Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum

Additional Benefit: £400 per month car allowance

We're looking for an experienced Senior IT Support Engineer to join a growing technical team within an established IT Managed Services Provider (MSP).

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge, a proactive approach and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

You'll provide remote and telephone support to a varied customer base, take ownership of escalated technical issues and act as a technical point of contact for more complex incidents and major outages.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take ownership of technical support calls and incidents through to resolution.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and major outages.
• Provide technical guidance and support to fellow engineers.
• Support and troubleshoot customer and internal IT environments.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and platforms.
• Assist with knowledge sharing and cross-training within the team.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS

We're looking for experience in several of the following areas:

• Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating Systems.
• Microsoft Windows Server.
• Microsoft 365, Office 365 and Exchange Server.
• Exchange Hybrid deployments, mail flow and troubleshooting.
• Active Directory, Azure AD and Microsoft Teams.
• Networking: TCP/IP, Layer 2 & 3, VLANs, Routing, Spanning Tree and VoIP.
• WAN technologies including FTTC, FTTP, 4G/5G and leased lines.
• Firewalls, NAT policies, traffic shaping and bandwidth troubleshooting.
• Wireless networking and controller-based technologies.
• Server hardware and troubleshooting.
• SAN, shared storage, NFS and iSCSI.
• VMware vSphere and Hyper-V clustering.
• Backup solutions including Veeam and Acronis.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

• SharePoint Administration.
• Azure AD Connect.
• Azure MFA and Conditional Access.
• Azure Application Proxy.
• Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
• Microsoft Teams Voice.
• Previous experience working within an MSP environment.
