The Opportunity

We’re working with an ambitious and growing business based in Birmingham that is looking to appoint an experienced PR Manager to strengthen its brand presence, build meaningful media relationships and drive its external communications strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded PR professional who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

You’ll take ownership of PR activity, identifying opportunities to raise the organisation’s profile, strengthen its reputation and ensure its message reaches the right audiences.

We’re looking for someone who understands how effective PR contributes to wider business objectives and can turn ideas into compelling stories that generate genuine engagement.

The Role

As PR Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering a proactive PR and communications strategy.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Developing and implementing PR strategies aligned with business objectives.

* Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, media outlets and key industry contacts.

* Identifying opportunities to secure positive media coverage across regional, national and industry publications.

* Writing and distributing press releases, thought leadership articles, case studies and other communications.

* Managing media enquiries, interview opportunities and external communications.

* Working closely with senior stakeholders to identify compelling stories and communicate key messages.

* Supporting the development of the organisation’s brand positioning and reputation.

* Planning and delivering PR campaigns, events and media initiatives.

* Monitoring media coverage, measuring campaign effectiveness and reporting on results.

* Managing external PR agencies and suppliers where required.

* Providing communications advice and support to senior leadership.

* Ensuring consistent messaging across PR, marketing and digital channels.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced PR professional who brings creativity, commercial awareness and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.

You’ll ideally have:

* Proven experience in a PR Manager, Communications Manager or similar role.

* A strong track record of delivering successful PR campaigns and securing media coverage.

* Established relationships with journalists and relevant media contacts.

* Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to create engaging and persuasive content.

* Experience developing PR strategies and translating them into measurable results.

* Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

* Experience managing multiple projects and working to tight deadlines.

* A proactive approach to identifying media opportunities and generating new ideas.

* A good understanding of digital PR, social media and the wider communications landscape.

* The confidence to work independently, take ownership and influence business decisions.

Experience gained within either an agency or in-house environment will be considered.
