History / Humanities Teacher | Birmingham & Solihull

Secondary Supply Teaching | Flexible, Short-Term & Long-Term Opportunities

Are you a qualified History Teacher looking for new teaching opportunities across Birmingham and Solihull?

Aspire People is recruiting History specialists and versatile Humanities Teachers to support secondary schools across Birmingham, Solihull and the surrounding areas.

We are particularly interested in teachers who can bring History to life in the classroom, develop pupils' critical thinking and analytical skills, and maintain strong standards of behaviour and engagement.

Whether you're looking for flexible supply work, regular teaching days or a longer-term Humanities position, we'd like to hear from you.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE WE RECRUITING FOR?

We are building our network of qualified teachers for future daily supply, short-term cover and longer-term History and Humanities teaching requirements.

Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include:

- Delivering engaging History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Teaching key historical periods, events and themes in line with school schemes of work.
- Supporting GCSE History pupils with source analysis, interpretation and extended writing.
- Encouraging discussion, debate and independent thinking.
- Maintaining effective classroom routines and managing behaviour confidently.
- Planning, marking and assessing pupil work where required.
- Delivering wider Humanities subjects, including Religious Studies or Geography, where appropriate to your experience.

Experience teaching A-Level History would be beneficial for relevant opportunities.

We are interested in teachers with a strong History specialism as well as Humanities teachers who can confidently teach more than one subject.

These are prospective opportunities across our partner schools rather than one confirmed vacancy.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for teachers who have:

- QTS or QTLS and experience teaching History or Humanities.
- Strong knowledge of the secondary History curriculum.
- The confidence to deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 lessons.
- Effective behaviour management and clear classroom expectations.
- The ability to adapt teaching for pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
- A professional, reliable and flexible approach to supply teaching.

Experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers are encouraged to apply.

If your main specialism is History but you are also happy to deliver Religious Studies, Geography or general Humanities lessons, please highlight this in your application.
