Location: Birmingham

A prestigious legal firm is seeking a Property Litigation Senior Associate or Legal Director to join their Real Estate Dispute Resolution team in Birmingham. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to work alongside some of the most respected professionals in the industry, supporting senior fee earners and gaining exposure to a diverse range of clients including developers, investors, landlords, tenants, and public sector bodies.

The organisation is renowned for its approachable and genuinely collaborative culture, offering a supportive environment where your commitment and loyalty are rewarded with comprehensive development and progression opportunities. Flexible working patterns are available to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance, and you will benefit from a wide array of learning resources, generous rewards packages, and recognition for your achievements. If you are enthusiastic about property law and dispute resolution, enjoy working as part of a team, and are keen to advance your career within a forward-thinking legal group, this role offers the perfect platform.

What you'll do:

  • Manage your own caseload of complex property litigation matters with autonomy while receiving guidance from senior fee earners.
  • Support senior members of the team by assisting with high-value real estate disputes involving developers, investors, landlords, tenants, and public sector bodies.
  • Provide commercially focused advice to clients on all aspects of property litigation including County Court and First-tier Tribunal proceedings.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, and settlement agreements with precision and attention to detail.
  • Conduct legal research to inform case strategy and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practice standards.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in contentious property matters while maintaining strong interpersonal relationships throughout the process.
  • Attend client meetings both virtually and in person to discuss case progress, provide updates, and build trust through clear communication.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to share knowledge and develop innovative solutions for resolving disputes efficiently.
  • Participate in business development activities by contributing to client pitches, presentations, and networking events within the real estate sector.
  • Mentor junior team members by sharing expertise and providing constructive feedback to foster their professional growth.

What you bring:

To excel as a Property Litigation Senior Associate in this esteemed legal environment, you should bring substantial experience managing complex property disputes from inception through resolution.

Your background should include handling County Court actions as well as First-tier Tribunal matters involving various real estate stakeholders. You will need advanced drafting abilities for preparing persuasive legal documents that withstand scrutiny. Interpersonal sensitivity is essential; your capacity for building trustful relationships with clients ensures their needs are understood and met effectively. Teamwork is highly valued here-your willingness to collaborate across departments enhances collective problem-solving efforts. If you have mentored junior colleagues before or contributed to business development initiatives such as pitching for new clients or attending industry events, these experiences will further distinguish you. Staying abreast of developments in property law demonstrates your commitment to continuous improvement. Above all else, your enthusiasm for dispute resolution combined with professionalism makes you an ideal fit for this role.
