Career Legal

My client, a leading Real Estate law firm, with a great reputation, is now looking to hire a Sustainability Advisor to join their wider team. The role can be based in either Birmingham or Manchester and presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional to play a key role in driving environmental initiatives, supporting net zero ambitions, and embedding sustainable practices across the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected professional services organisation that is committed to responsible business practices, continuous improvement, and delivering a positive impact for its people, clients, and communities.

Working as part of a collaborative operations team, you will support the development and delivery of the firm's sustainability strategy, helping to drive environmental performance and carbon reduction initiatives across the business.

You will work closely with stakeholders at all levels, providing insight, guidance, and practical support to ensure sustainability objectives are effectively delivered and continuously improved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and delivery of the firm's sustainability and net zero objectives.
  • Collect, analyse, and report on environmental and carbon emissions data.
  • Manage sustainability projects from planning through to successful implementation.
  • Support environmental reporting requirements, disclosures, and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate responses to client sustainability questionnaires, audits, tenders, and requests for information.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive improvements in sustainability performance.
  • Support environmental management systems, policies, compliance activities, and governance requirements.
  • Create engaging sustainability communications, awareness campaigns, and educational materials.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and sustainability best practices to inform future initiatives.
  • Assist with the ongoing development and enhancement of the firm's sustainability strategy and reporting framework.

To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive and enthusiastic sustainability professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will likely have:

  • Previous experience in a Sustainability, Environmental, ESG, or Net Zero-focused role.
  • A good understanding of carbon accounting, greenhouse gas reporting, and sustainability frameworks.
  • Experience managing projects and delivering initiatives within agreed timescales.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The confidence to influence and engage with colleagues at all levels of an organisation.
  • A highly organised approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • A relevant sustainability, environmental, or related qualification (desirable).

Why apply?

In return, my client offers a highly supportive and inclusive working environment alongside a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Annual bonus scheme
  • Generous pension provision
  • Private Medical Insurance from day one
  • Health and wellbeing benefits
  • Discounted gym memberships
  • Health assessments
  • Lifestyle and retail discounts
  • Hybrid working arrangements
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities

This is an excellent opportunity for a sustainability professional looking to further develop their career within a highly regarded organisation that is genuinely committed to environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.
