Full Stack Software Developer

Remote UK | £70,000–£80,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Full Stack Software Developer who enjoys building high-quality applications, solving complex technical challenges and improving existing systems?

We’re looking for a talented developer to join a growing technology environment, working across a range of bespoke business applications, APIs, microservices and cloud-hosted platforms.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing development and improvement of a complex application ecosystem hosted on Microsoft Azure. Initially, you’ll focus on understanding the existing architecture, services, integrations and deployment processes, building the technical knowledge needed to take increasing ownership of the platform.

As you settle into the role, you’ll contribute to new functionality, architectural improvements, performance optimisation and the long-term reliability and maintainability of the applications.

You’ll work across the full stack, collaborating with developers, DevOps engineers and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and dependable software solutions.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and enhancing responsive web applications using React, JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Building and maintaining APIs, microservices and backend services using Python and FastAPI.
  • Working with distributed systems, integrations and asynchronous processing using technologies such as Celery.
  • Designing, maintaining and optimising databases across SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Azure Cosmos DB.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the existing Azure-hosted application architecture, infrastructure and operational processes.
  • Supporting containerised applications running on Docker and Kubernetes, investigating issues and contributing to platform stability.
  • Working with Linux-based environments, particularly Ubuntu Server, to troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues.
  • Improving technical documentation, automated testing, code quality and deployment processes.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues across applications, APIs, databases, integrations and cloud-hosted services.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve performance, scalability, security and maintainability while reducing technical debt.
  • Collaborating with technical colleagues and business stakeholders to deliver effective solutions and continuously improve the application landscape.
About You

You’ll be an experienced full-stack developer with strong Python and modern front-end development skills, alongside practical experience supporting cloud-hosted applications.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Strong experience developing and supporting applications within Microsoft Azure.
  • Excellent front-end development skills with React and JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Strong Python development experience, ideally using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
  • Experience designing, building and consuming REST APIs and working with microservices or distributed systems.
  • Good database skills across SQL Server, PostgreSQL and/or Cosmos DB.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including troubleshooting containerised applications and supporting production environments.
  • A good understanding of Linux administration, particularly Ubuntu Server, including networking, security, log analysis and performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and software release processes.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous processing, automated testing, debugging and code refactoring.
  • Experience using monitoring, structured logging and performance diagnostics to maintain reliable applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues and develop practical solutions.
  • The communication skills to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
The Technology Environment

You’ll work with a modern technology stack spanning:

  • Front end: React, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Back end: Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, microservices, Celery
  • Databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB
  • Cloud and DevOps: Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines
  • Containers and infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Linux (Ubuntu Server)
What’s on Offer?
  • Salary of £70,000–£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Fully remote working within the UK.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of a complex application platform and make a tangible technical contribution.
  • A varied full-stack role combining development, problem-solving, cloud technologies and platform improvement.
  • The chance to influence code quality, architecture and the ongoing evolution of a modern application ecosystem.

If you’re a hands-on developer who enjoys working across the full stack and wants to make a real difference to the performance, reliability and future direction of business-critical applications, we’d love to hear from you.
