Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
We are working with an established, family-owned business in Birmingham that is looking to appoint an ERP & IT Systems Manager to take ownership of its core business systems and wider internal IT environment.
This is a broad, hands-on role with a strong focus on ERP and business systems, making it well suited to someone who has experience supporting, improving and administering ERP platforms within a manufacturing, distribution, wholesale or similarly operational environment.
The role is expected to be approximately 70% ERP / business systems and 30% wider IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Take day-to-day ownership of the company’s ERP platform
- Support users across sales, purchasing, stock, finance and wider operational functions
- Manage ERP configuration, users, permissions and system changes
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows and reporting
- Work with external ERP providers on upgrades, development and system improvements
- Troubleshoot ERP and wider business systems issues
- Produce reports and analyse business data
- Maintain system documentation and operating procedures
- Support the wider IT environment across multiple sites
- Work closely with the company’s external MSP and other technology suppliers
- Support user onboarding, hardware, software and general IT requirements
- Help shape future improvements to the company’s systems and technology environment
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience supporting or administering an ERP system
- Experience working with ERP platforms such as Intact, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics / Business Central, SAP Business One, Epicor, NetSuite, QAD, EFACS or similar
- Good understanding of business processes across areas such as stock, purchasing, sales, finance or manufacturing
- Experience improving ERP processes, reporting or system functionality
- Broad IT knowledge and confidence supporting users outside of the ERP environment
- Experience working with external IT providers, MSPs or software suppliers
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- The ability to take ownership and work autonomously
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with users across different areas of the business
Experience within manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, construction supplies or another stock-led environment would be particularly relevant.
The Opportunity
This is a role with genuine ownership. You will become the main internal point of contact for ERP and business systems while also playing an important part in the wider IT environment.
There is plenty of scope to improve existing processes, modernise systems and help shape how technology is used across the business going forward.
If you have a strong ERP background but also enjoy the broader side of IT and want a role where you can make a visible impact across a business, we would be keen to hear from you.
