Product Manager – Technology Transformation

Birmingham (hybrid, 2 days a week in the office) | Fixed-term contract to March 2029 | c.£70,000

I’m working with a financial services organisation based in central Birmingham, who are looking for Product Manager to join their product team. They are currently undertaking a business wide technology transformation and need experienced Product Managers to help deliver this programme of work. With the transformation being in the early stages, this role offers huge opportunities to take the lead on key activities including requirements gathering, functional and solution design, testing, data migration and implementation.

The role

• You’ll start by reviewing the bank’s full product suite, covering multiple financial products such as lending, current accounts etc. You’ll set up a formal Product Register as the single source of truth and write up the technical specifications for every current product.
• You will lead the product requirements for migrating and integrating each product onto the new platform. You’ll also work out how product features, pricing and terms will change between the old and new systems, and make sure customers are looked after through any changes.
• As the programme moves into testing, you’ll lead product UAT, checking that migrated products, statements and key features work as expected. You’ll own product defects and data migration requirements, and make sure the documentation is built to support day-to-day running long after go-live.

What they’re after:

• A strong all-round Product Manager with experience across several retail banking products, not just lending
• Migration experience (system-to-system or terms-to-terms) and agile ways of working would be a real advantage
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and confident in engaging with stakeholders across both technology and the business, including IT Development, Operations and Compliance & Risk department
• Confident in proposing your own approach
