Gravitas Recruitment Group (Global) Ltd
Platform Engineer, Windows & Ansible – London
£50,000–£58,000 base + on-call payments + share options | Hybrid: 2 days onsite
Want to build the systems behind automation, rather than just run existing playbooks?
We’re working with a SaaS organisation looking for an engineer to join its platform team. You’ll design reusable automation and tooling that helps other teams deliver and operate services more effectively.
This is a hands-on role spanning Windows infrastructure, private cloud and modern platform tooling. You’ll have room to own projects, improve established systems and contribute to newer work involving Kubernetes and AI-assisted engineering.
Why join?
- Build, don’t just maintain: Design automation and self-service capabilities for other engineers to use.
- Own the solution: Take problems from investigation through design, implementation and improvement.
- Work across a varied environment: Get close to the underlying infrastructure while contributing to newer platform projects.
- Make a visible impact: Improve the tooling and workflows behind a business-critical SaaS product.
What you’ll do
- Design and develop automation using Ansible
- Build and manage Ansible based infrastructure (IaC)
- Use PowerShell, Bash and/or Python to solve platform problems and reduce manual work.
- Engineer and improve Windows-based infrastructure.
- Build tools that enable other teams to work more effectively.
- Contribute to projects involving Kubernetes-based tooling and the evolution of existing systems.
- Take advantage of cutting edge technologies, helping to implement modern coding practices to drive efficiency
What we’re looking for
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Hands-on Ansible experience beyond running existing playbooks.
- Coding or scripting skills, particularly in Python or PowerShell.
- An understanding of infrastructure as code, Git and repeatable delivery.
- Windows infrastructure experience.
- The ability to investigate unfamiliar problems and take ownership of a solution.
Experience with GitOps, Kubernetes or AI-assisted development tools would be useful, but you don’t need every tool on the list.
Package: £50,000-£58,000 base salary, additional on-call payments and share options.
If you enjoy building automation that other engineers rely on, we’d like to hear from you. Apply today and one of the team will be in touch to discuss the details.
