A growing ecommerce business is hiring a Designer on a fixed-term contract to support their digital and ecommerce output, with real ownership across both design craft and CMS work.

This is a hands-on role for a designer who’s as comfortable in Figma or the Adobe Suite as they are inside a CMS getting pages live. You’ll produce the day-to-day design output the business needs across site, campaigns and content, keeping quality and consistency high at pace.

Role: Designer (Fixed-Term Contract)

Salary: £30,000

Location: Birmingham, hybrid, 2 to 3 days per week in office

What you’ll be doing:

• Design assets across the ecommerce site, email, social, campaigns and wider digital content
• Build, update and maintain pages directly inside the CMS, including merchandising, product and landing pages
• Keep brand and design consistency tight across every customer touchpoint
• Partner with marketing, ecommerce and trading teams on live campaigns and promotional activity
• Turn briefs around at pace without dropping craft
• QA your own work and the pages going live, catching issues before customers do
• Suggest improvements to templates, components and workflows as you go

What you’ll need:

• Proven commercial design experience, ideally in-house with an ecommerce or retail brand
• Hands-on CMS experience (Shopify, Magento, WordPress, BigCommerce or similar)
• Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and comfort in Figma
• Good eye for layout, typography and brand consistency across digital surfaces
• Able to juggle multiple briefs at once and hit deadlines reliably
• Available on a fixed-term contract basis at relatively short notice
• Comfortable with a hybrid Birmingham-based setup, 2 to 3 days in office

Nice to have:

• Prior experience inside a trading-led ecommerce team
• Email design experience across Klaviyo, Mailchimp or similar
• Basic HTML/CSS confidence for small CMS tweaks
