Senior Release Manager - IT/ Insurance - £78k + Benefits - Hybrid working x2 days in the office per week - #2166173

Hawksworth are recruiting now for a Senior Release Manager on a Permanent basis. This opportunity is hybrid working in either Guildford, Bournemouth or Birmingham, with two days expected onsite every week.

The Role

You will take a central role in coordinating and improving Release Management across several business areas, ensuring technology releases are effectively planned, aligned and delivered with minimal disruption.

Working with multiple technology and business teams in an Agile environment, you will oversee the forward release schedule, identify potential conflicts and dependencies well in advance, and bring stakeholders together to resolve scheduling challenges.

You will also help shape and improve release management processes, strengthen governance and establish a more coordinated approach to enterprise-wide change.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate IT releases across multiple business units and technology teams.
• Manage the forward release schedule, identifying and resolving scheduling clashes and competing priorities.
• Oversee RAID management, ensuring risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified and addressed early.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders, delivery teams and suppliers to align release plans.
• Drive effective release planning, readiness reviews and governance processes.
• Improve release management frameworks, controls and ways of working.
• Ensure releases meet operational readiness, risk and compliance requirements.
• Support effective release management within an Agile delivery environment.

Essential Experience

• Strong background specialising in IT Release Management within a large, complex organisation.
• Proven experience coordinating releases across multiple business units or technology teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Strong experience of release scheduling, dependency management and resolving release conflicts.
• Experience managing RAID and proactively identifying risks to delivery.
• Experience working within Agile technology environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL, change management and release governance processes.
• Experience with ServiceNow or equivalent IT Service Management tools.
• Ability to improve processes and bring structure to complex release environments.
• Experience within insurance, financial services or another highly regulated industry is required.
