James Adams

We are excited to be working with a successful and growing organisation looking to add an IT Helpdesk Technician to its supportive internal IT team. This is a hands-on position offering exposure to a broad range of technologies, business systems and working environments, making it a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in IT.

This is a great opportunity for someone to…

Develop their technical knowledge within a varied role that goes beyond a traditional call centre style helpdesk position. You will support users across office and operational environments, take ownership of technical issues and gain practical experience with Microsoft 365, Windows 11, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, endpoint security, networking and cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT support across the business.
  • Provide first and second-line support by phone, email, remote access and in person.
  • Take ownership of incidents and service requests through to resolution, escalating when necessary.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printing, connectivity and user-access issues.
  • Build, configure and deploy laptops, desktops, peripherals and other end-user devices.
  • Support user account administration across Active Directory and Entra ID.
  • Assist with Intune device enrolment, compliance and deployment.
  • Support operational technology, including scanners, printers and label devices.
  • Complete software installations, system updates and patching.
  • Maintain accurate records within the IT ticketing system and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
  • Support security standards, including MFA, antivirus protection and device compliance.
  • Assist with office moves, workstation setups and hardware deployments.
  • Travel between business locations when required.
  • Support the wider IT team during busy periods and major incidents.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours support rota when required.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience providing IT support within a business environment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • A basic understanding of Active Directory and Entra ID.
  • Familiarity with endpoint security, MFA and IT ticketing systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A genuine interest in technology and a desire to continue learning.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Experience with Intune, device management, warehouse or operational environments, and networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP and VPN would be beneficial.
  • Relevant IT qualifications or certifications would also be advantageous.
