Responsibilities and duties of the Generator Maintenance Engineer

Reporting to the maintenance manager you will:

• 
  Travel throughout the UK, primarily within the Midlands area
• 
  Carry out routine servicing on generators ranging from 10kVA to 2MVA.
• 
  Undertake scheduled service work, remedial works and reactive maintenance.
• 
  Act as the first responder to on-site generator breakdowns.
• 
  Participate in an out-of-hours callout rota.
• 
  Use your engineering skills to maintain and service a range of generator systems.
• 
  Work remotely with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of customer service and professionalism.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• 
  Minimum 3 years' relevant experience as a Generator Service Engineer or in a similar role.
• 
  Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems.
• 
  Practical knowledge of software-based control systems such as ComAp and Deep Sea.
• 
  Strong IT skills, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• 
  Experience using laptop-based engine system analysis and control programmes such as ComAp PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite.
• 
  Gas Safe qualification desirable.
• 
  Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification desirable.
• 
  IEE 18th Edition qualification desirable.
• 
  CSCS card desirable.
• 
  Own basic electrical and mechanical toolkit desirable.
• 
  Right to live and work in the UK.
