Audit Manager - #2155916

A well-established accountancy practice is recruiting for an Audit Manager to plan, organise and manage a portfolio of corporate audit clients. The ideal candidate will be qualified ACCA/ACA with a minimum of two years post qualified experience gained within a UK accountancy firm.

In addition to client management, the role will contribute to overall practice development particularly in audit, accounts preparation and outsourcing work for corporate clients.

• Managing a portfolio of corporate clients, providing excellent service on a cost effective and timely basis
• Developing a knowledge of clients and their businesses as their day-to-day point of contact
• Responding to client queries, and those from third parties (e.g., HMRC)
• Seek to gain experience/ progress role and those of other staff by seeking to take more advanced work from partners and delegating more routine work to others, thereby aiding cost-effectiveness, and adding to interest/ training of all within the team
• Review and finalise audit files, accounts and corporation tax work prepared by junior staff
• Staff appraisal forms providing feedback and training as required
• To identify business opportunities and assist partners with specific assignments and in controlling WIP
• Liaising with partners regarding WIP and raising bills/ assisting as required
• Monitoring progress against deadlines and ensure these are met e.g. Companies House filings, group reporting, P11Ds, tax returns, etc
• Ensuring work is planned and progressed in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner by liaising with Partners and supervising staff

• ACA or ACCA qualification or equivalent experience – FCA or FCCA is desirable
• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification proven experience within a UK audit practice environment
• Ability to review and complete audit and accounts files quickly and efficiently
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing staff within a practice environment
• Experience of working with charities and academies would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills
• Good networker who quickly builds rapport and trust
• Live within commuting distance of Banbury
• Work outside normal hours as required
