Make a Difference in Regulatory Monitoring

We're looking for an experienced Regulatory Monitoring Specialist to join our Regulatory Monitoring Team on an 18-month fixed term contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in providing independent assurance across the Wesleyan Group. Working across a range of business areas, you'll conduct risk-based monitoring reviews focused on customer outcomes, regulatory requirements and business controls. You'll identify areas for improvement, perform root cause analysis and provide insight that helps ensure we continue to deliver positive outcomes for our customers.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you'll lead reviews from planning through to reporting, providing constructive challenge and helping drive continuous improvement.

Your Impact

Here's how you'll make a difference:

• Scope and deliver risk-based regulatory monitoring reviews by researching relevant regulations, understanding business activities and determining the most effective review approach.
• Create and execute output-based test plans focused on assessing customer outcomes, identifying control weaknesses and determining the root cause of any issues identified.
• Conduct effective quality assurance throughout the review process to ensure accurate, objective and high-quality outputs.
• Produce clear and concise monitoring reports, documenting findings and presenting outcomes to senior stakeholders.
• Validate agreed actions, monitor progress and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the Wesleyan Group to support timely resolution of actions and continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring

• Previous Financial Services experience, ideally within regulatory monitoring, compliance monitoring, compliance assurance, risk, audit or a similar oversight function.
• Strong understanding of the UK Financial Services regulatory framework, particularly FCA Consumer Duty requirements.
• Experience conducting reviews, testing controls, assessing customer outcomes and identifying areas of regulatory risk.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis and the ability to exercise sound judgement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present findings and challenge stakeholders constructively.
• Self-motivated and organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities whilst delivering high-quality work to agreed deadlines.
• Diploma in Financial Planning (Level 4) or equivalent qualification, or working towards achieving this.
