Talent, Learning & Development Manager

Hybrid | £50,000–£55,000

We are recruiting a Talent, Learning & Development Manager to help an organisation understand the skills it has, the skills it will need and how its people can develop to meet that need.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will work closely with managers across the business. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for both the structure behind talent development and the programmes employees experience day to day.

This highly diverse role will entail:

• Developing competency frameworks and a skills bank to give the business a clearer view of its capabilities and gaps.
• Strengthening performance and development processes, including probation reviews, one-to-ones and individual development plans.
• Working with managers to identify future skills needs and translate them into practical learning priorities.
• Designing and delivering technical, professional and leadership development through workshops, digital learning, mentoring and learning on the job.
• Creating career pathways that support progression, internal mobility and succession planning.
• Coordinating apprenticeships, professional qualifications and external training providers.
• Managing the learning system and mandatory training records, and measuring the impact of development through feedback, skills data and business outcomes.

Applicants will have substantial experience in talent or learning and development, including building performance or competency frameworks and delivering blended learning. You will know how to work with managers to get beneath a training request, understand the capability issue and agree what will help.

Applicants will also be confident facilitating workshops, using workforce data and showing whether an initiative has made a difference. Experience with apprenticeships and succession planning would be valuable.
