Financial Controller

A great opportunity for an experienced finance professional to step into a broad Financial Controller position within an established and growing financial services business.

This is a 12–13 month fixed-term opportunity, providing maternity cover while taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function and working closely with senior leadership. The role offers a broad remit across financial control, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis, alongside the opportunity to gain valuable experience within the Financial Planning / Wealth Management sector.

The Role

• Oversee monthly management accounts, financial reporting, reconciliations and financial controls
• Manage budgets, forecasts and cash flow, providing insight to support decision-making
• Oversee adviser fee, commission and client income reconciliation
• Manage payroll, supplier payments, client invoicing and credit control
• Work with HR, external accountants and auditors on payroll, tax and statutory requirements
• Ensure financial processes remain compliant with FCA requirements and relevant legislation
• Provide commercial financial analysis and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and controls
• Support the Finance Director and senior leadership team with financial strategy, business growth and potential acquisitions

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or equivalent experience
• Strong experience across financial reporting, management accounts and financial control
• Experience within financial services, wealth management, financial planning or an IFA environment would be advantageous
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience
• Good understanding of FCA regulations and financial-services compliance
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Confident working with senior stakeholders and providing commercially focused financial insight
