Design Manager - #2151014

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to take a leading role across a major programme of infrastructure and non-infrastructure water projects.

Working remotely, you'll coordinate multidisciplinary design across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process engineering, bringing together technical teams to support the successful delivery of complex water and wastewater treatment projects.

The initial 18-month duration provides excellent project continuity within a significant UK water design programme.

You'll be involved in:

• Managing multidisciplinary design across water and wastewater projects
• Coordinating civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines
• Managing design programmes, deliverables and technical requirements
• Coordinating technical information across engineering teams
• Monitoring design progress and identifying risks or coordination issues
• Leading and supporting multidisciplinary design reviews
• Resolving complex technical and design coordination challenges
• Working closely with project and delivery teams
• Liaising with key project stakeholders
• Driving effective design delivery throughout the project lifecycle

• Previous experience as a Design Manager, Design Lead or similar
• Strong engineering or technical design background
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering design
• Good understanding of design and project delivery processes
• Ability to coordinate multiple technical disciplines and design packages
• Strong design programme and deliverable management skills
• Excellent organisational and stakeholder management capabilities
• Confidence providing leadership across complex engineering projects
• Ability to effectively manage design activity within a remote environment

Previous experience across WTW, WWTW, water treatment or wastewater projects would be particularly beneficial.

• £50-£75 per hour
• Long-term 18-month contract
