Finance Analyst

Salary: £26-28K
Contract Type: 12 Month FTC - 35 hours a week
Location: Hybrid working (office based in Birmingham) - typically 2 days in the office per week post induction.

Due to a period of growth, our leading financial services provider has an exciting opportunity to join a leading Financial Accounting team, where you'll broaden your experience and further develop your financial accounting skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

You'll play a key role in helping to maintain accurate accounting records across the departments regulated businesses and wider activity ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, financial controls, and company policies.

This role offers excellent exposure and introduction to a wide range of financial accounting activities within a financial services setting. You'll have the opportunity to build your technical expertise, strengthen your financial control and reporting skills, and gain valuable insight into the operations of a large and complex organisation.

What you'll be doing:

• Support key financial controls and bank reconciliations while gaining exposure to FCA regulations.
• Assist with monthly accounting activities, including journals, invoices, and account analysis.
• Help prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Contribute to regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
• Carry out financial analysis to support business decision-making.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and ways of working.
• Support audits and a range of wider finance projects and activities.

About You:

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• A willingness to learn and pick up new skills quickly.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• A collaborative approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A recent graduate looking to build a career in accounting, or currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification.
• Interested in developing your finance knowledge and professional skills.
• Experienced within a financial services environment (desirable but not essential).
