Die & Tooling Co-ordinator

£30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Monday - Thursday: 7:15am - 4:00pm | Friday: 7:15am - 2:15pm

Our client, a well-established manufacturing business, is seeking a Die & Tooling Co-ordinator to join their team. Reporting to the Mint Room Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating all die and tooling-related activities, ensuring accurate records are maintained, and supporting production through effective tooling management.

Key Responsibilities
Die & Tooling Management

• Manage die stock and tooling records, maintaining accurate documentation and images of all receipts and issues.
  
  
• Monitor die performance and report concerns relating to die life and product finish.
  
  
• Maintain a tidy, organised work area and report issues as they arise.
  
  

New Die Coordination

• Review supplier delivery schedules and communicate delivery priorities.
  
  
• Inspect new dies for quality and finish defects.
  
  
• Arrange refurbishment of rejected dies.
  
  
• Store and manage approved dies, ensuring production teams are aware of availability.
  
  
  

Die Refurbishment

• Coordinate the stripping and refurbishment of dies currently in use.
  
  
• Liaise with suppliers regarding refurbishment priorities.
  
  
• Inspect refurbished dies upon return and manage any quality concerns.
  
  
• Store refurbished dies and advise production of availability.
  
   

Die Archiving

• Manage the archiving of dies that have reached mintage limits or are no longer suitable for refurbishment.
  
  
• Communicate archiving requirements to relevant departments.
  
  
• Coordinate the defacing of archived dies.

Tooling & Maintenance

• Maintain collar and press tooling records.
  
  
• Order replacement collars and tooling when required.
  
  
• Report tooling concerns and performance issues.
  
  
• Manage the plant maintenance schedule and update records accordingly.
  
  
• Assist in collecting and maintaining production performance data.
• Requirements

• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
  
  
• Experience in a quality-focused role would be advantageous
  
  
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
  
  
• Good computer literacy and confidence maintaining records and data
  
  
• Excellent attention to detail
  
  
• Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams
  
  
• Proactive and capable of identifying and resolving issues
