Clinical Psychologist – Adult Autism £60,000–£66,500 | West Midlands | Hybrid | Full-time or part-time
For a Clinical Psychologist who enjoys neurodevelopmental work but still wants the space for formulation, differential thinking and proper MDT discussion, this is a strong opportunity.
You will join a clinician-led adult autism service where psychology is central to diagnostic reasoning. The role covers detailed clinical interviews, developmental history, psychological assessment, formulation and complex differential diagnosis within a governed MDT pathway.
You will work alongside psychology, nursing, SLT, OT and senior medical colleagues, with Consultant Psychiatrist and GP clinical oversight available for complex cases and escalation.
Why consider it.
You will need HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist and direct experience contributing to adult autism diagnostic assessments within an MDT. ADOS-2, ADI-R and Right to Choose experience are desirable rather than essential.
If you want to stay clinically hands-on while working in a service where psychological reasoning is properly valued, get in touch for a confidential discussion on (phone number removed) or email (url removed)

Why consider it.
- Psychology has a clear role in diagnostic decision-making, rather than simply delivering one part of an assessment.
- There is room for proper formulation and differential reasoning across autism, ADHD, mental health, trauma, learning disability and other complex presentations.
- You will contribute to personalised recommendations and support planning, not simply diagnostic outcomes.
- The service has defined MDT, supervision, peer review and governance structures.
- There is scope to contribute to audit, service improvement and supervision of other clinicians.
