Consula Group LTD

Consula is recruiting on behalf of an established and respected care organisation for compassionate, dependable and motivated Care Assistants to join its day-shift team in Birmingham.

This is an opportunity to work in a welcoming residential care setting where residents are supported to live with dignity, comfort, choice and as much independence as possible. The service is committed to creating a homely environment in which residents, relatives and colleagues feel valued, listened to and respected.

We are looking for people who understand that excellent care is not only about completing tasks. It is about taking time, noticing the small things, building trusted relationships and helping each person have the best possible day.

Whether you already have experience in adult social care or are looking to begin a rewarding career supporting older people, we would like to hear from you. Previous care experience is valued, but full training can be provided for the right person with the right values.

The Role

As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care and practical support to residents throughout the day. You will work as part of a close-knit team, following individual care plans and making sure that every resident is treated with kindness, patience and respect.

Your responsibilities will include:

•Supporting residents with personal care in a way that protects dignity, privacy and independence.

•Assisting with mobility, transfers and daily living activities in line with each resident’s needs and agreed care plan.

•Supporting residents at mealtimes, encouraging nutrition and hydration, and responding to individual dietary requirements.

•Providing companionship, conversation and emotional reassurance.

•Helping residents take part in activities, social occasions and day-to-day routines that are important to them.

•Observing and reporting changes in a resident’s wellbeing, mood or needs to the senior care team.

•Maintaining accurate, timely care records and handing over information clearly to colleagues.

•Working alongside senior carers, nurses, managers and relatives to provide consistent, personalised care.

•Helping to maintain a clean, calm, safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Every shift will be different. Some moments will be busy and practical; others will simply involve sitting with a resident, listening to them and helping them feel connected. Both matter.

About You

We are looking for someone who is kind, reliable and genuinely interested in supporting people. You will be comfortable working as part of a team, while also being able to use your own initiative when appropriate.

You will ideally have experience in residential care, domiciliary care, supported living, healthcare or another people-facing support role. However, experience is not essential where the employer can provide training. We are equally interested in candidates who bring maturity, empathy, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

To succeed in the role, you will need:

•A caring, compassionate and respectful approach.

•Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, relatives and colleagues.

•A reliable and organised approach to work.

•The ability to remain calm and professional when supporting people with different needs.

•A willingness to complete training and work in line with safeguarding, health and safety and care-quality standards.

•The legal right to work in the UK.

What Is Offered

The successful candidate will receive a supportive introduction to the service and the opportunity to build a long-term career in adult social care.

The package includes:

•Day-shift opportunities with [full-time / part-time / contracted] hours available.

•Paid induction and comprehensive mandatory training.

•Ongoing learning, development and opportunities to gain recognised care qualifications.

•Regular supervision and support from an experienced management team.

•A friendly team culture in which colleagues support one another.

•Recognition for the contribution you make to residents and the wider team.

An Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and right-to-work checks will be required before employment can begin.
