A well-established and growing professional services organisation is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its Operations team. As the business continues to expand, this newly created role will play a key part in supporting managers and employees across the full employee life cycle, ensuring a positive employee experience and consistent HR practices across the organisation.This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys a hands-on generalist role and wants to influence employee engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives within a collaborative business environment.
Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Director and working closely with the Head of People, you will act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR matters, providing practical and professional support to employees and managers.Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing employee relations matters, including absence, performance, conduct, wellbeing and flexible working requests.
- Supporting the full employee life cycle, from onboarding and probation management through to offboarding and exit processes.
- Providing guidance on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records, HR systems and documentation.
- Supporting recruitment activity, interview coordination and new starter administration.
- Producing HR reports and people-related management information.
- Monitoring absence trends and supporting return-to-work processes.
- Contributing to HR projects, employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing programmes.
- Reviewing and implementing improvements to employee benefits, reward and recognition initiatives to support employee retention.
What you'll need to succeed
- CIPD Level 7 qualified.
- Previous experience in a generalist HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor role.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience managing employee relations cases and providing HR advice to managers.
- Proven experience across onboarding, offboarding, performance management, absence management and policy development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience using HR systems, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
- A professional, approachable and confidential approach to handling sensitive matters.
- Experience within a professional services, legal, financial services, accountancy or similar office-based environment would be advantageous.
What you'll get in return
