I'm working with a fast-growing advisory and accountancy firm to recruit a Corporate Tax Director into their Birmingham office.
This is a rare opportunity to join a business with significant growth ambitions and play a leading role in shaping the future of its Corporate Tax offering. With increasing demand for advisory work and a clear need to strengthen senior leadership within the tax team, this position offers the chance to make a genuine impact while building a long-term route towards Partner.
The OpportunityThis is far more than a traditional Corporate Tax role.
The firm is looking for an entrepreneurial tax leader who can help drive the transition from a predominantly compliance-focused service towards a broader, advisory-led proposition.
You'll work closely with senior leadership to develop capabilities, grow client relationships, and support the continued expansion of the tax function. There is significant scope to influence the direction of the team, develop service lines, and become a visible figure both internally and externally.

The RoleAs Corporate Tax Director, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and growing the Corporate Tax function while maintaining high levels of client service across a broad range of advisory projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading Corporate Tax advisory projects across a varied client portfolio
- Supporting the development of a more advisory-focused tax offering
- Working closely with senior leadership to expand service lines and technical capabilities
- Acting as a trusted adviser to clients on complex corporate tax matters
- Supporting clients through transactions, restructuring projects, and strategic tax planning exercises
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Becoming a visible presence within the Birmingham office and wider business
- Supporting business development activity and identifying new opportunities
- Mentoring, developing, and inspiring junior members of the tax team
- Driving technical excellence and helping to shape the future direction of the department
- ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified
- Strong Corporate Tax advisory experience gained within practice
- Experience operating at Senior Manager, Director, or equivalent level
- Broad technical knowledge across Corporate Tax
- Experience advising owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurial clients
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness and a business development mindset
- Leadership experience with a passion for developing people
- Ambition to help grow and shape a tax function
- Exposure to areas such as international tax, transactions, share schemes, or M&A tax would be advantageous
- Salary circa £100,000
