THE ROLE

Due to continued investment within the commercial team, there is now an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of existing agency accounts whilst driving significant new business across a range of event spaces.

This is a highly commercial role where you'll be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing strategic account plans and building long-term relationships with clients. You'll be expected to take a proactive approach to revenue generation as well as nurturing and building on current accounts.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of existing clients
  • Proactively identifying, targeting and securing new business opportunities
  • Building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue targets
  • Creating and executing strategic account growth plans
  • Identifying opportunities to increase revenue across existing clients
  • Networking and building relationships across the events industry
  • Leading commercial negotiations and closing high-value opportunities
  • Working closely with internal teams to develop innovative client solutions
  • Maintaining accurate sales forecasts and CRM records

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and commercially driven business development professional with a proven track record of winning new business, growing client revenue and developing strategic partnerships.

We're looking for someone who combines strong account management skills with a genuine hunter mentality. You will be confident building your own pipeline, opening doors with new prospects and identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts through strategic planning and consultative selling.

Candidates from venues, exhibitions, sponsorship, delegate sales, media or events will be considered. Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership of your numbers, understands how to build long-term revenue growth and thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment.
