About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable Industrial Engineer / Production Scheduler to join our aerospace and defence engineering function. Working alongside a diverse engineering team, you will support a broad spectrum of stakeholders ranging from design and leadership through to the hangar and shop floor. In this role, you will analyze, design, and optimize manufacturing and production processes using Lean manufacturing principles, constraint modeling, and continuous improvement concepts to ensure critical program schedules and technical goals are met.
Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive operations plans, incorporating work statement analysis, budgeting, forecasts, capacity, and constraint analysis.
  • Identify high-impact opportunities for production line balancing, flow optimization, and overall rate readiness.
  • Support robust execution planning by applying project management methodologies, production scheduling techniques, and shop load management practices.
  • Provide direct scheduling, supply chain logistics, performance visibility, and structured production recovery planning support.
  • Perform tactical job and shop floor observations to define explicit time/labor standards and eliminate process waste.
  • Identify key constraints within the manufacturing system and conduct data-driven cost-benefit analyses.
  • Update factory visual management systems and champion continuous improvement/Lean activities to improve flow, lower cost, and increase production rates.
  • Maintain total compliance with all defense engineering process requirements, safety rules, and operational procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience working within a manufacturing support engineering, production scheduling, or operations planning role.
  • Strong capabilities in stakeholder leadership with the ability to collaborate seamlessly between office-based design/leadership teams and technicians on the factory floor.
  • Safety, quality, and people-focused mindset with exceptional positive relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proficiency in creating visibility metrics and presentations.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with standard enterprise software (MS Office, Word, Excel).
