  • Line manage Building and Maintenance Officers, including allocating work, managing rotas and supporting day-to-day activity.
  • Provide guidance to team members to maintain consistent standards and safe working practices.
  • Support the delivery of health and safety processes on campus, including inspections, audits and routine checks.
  • Manage reactive and planned maintenance, working with contractors to ensure work is completed safely and to specification.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, compliance checks and contractor work.
  • Act as a first point of contact for building and maintenance queries, resolving routine issues or escalating where needed.
  • Work with IT and other service teams to coordinate local support and resolve operational issues.
  • Contribute to service improvements by identifying recurring issues and suggesting practical solutions.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience coordinating building, maintenance or facilities activity in a busy or complex environment.
  • Experience supervising or guiding colleagues on a day-to-day basis.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and respond to changing demands.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A practical, problem-solving approach and sound judgement in day-to-day situations.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, contractors and service teams.
  • Good digital skills, including experience using systems to manage records or track activity.
  • A working understanding of health and safety requirements in a facilities or maintenance setting.
