National Sales Manager

Location: Flexible (UK)

We are looking for an experienced, ambitious and commercially driven National Sales Manager to lead one of our group company UK sales operations.

This is a brand-new opportunity within a young, ambitious company that forms part of one of the UK's most established and respected names in the tile industry. Combining the energy and agility of a growing business with the strength, infrastructure and buying power of a major UK importer and distributor, this role offers an outstanding opportunity for the right individual to make a genuine impact.

This is not a role for someone who simply manages from behind a desk. We are looking for a proven sales leader who still enjoys being out in the field, building relationships, winning new business and closing deals. You will lead from the front, motivating and supporting your team while maintaining responsibility for your own portfolio of key national accounts.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage and develop a nationwide sales team comprising three Area Sales Managers. You will work closely with each member of the team to identify opportunities, secure new customers, grow existing accounts and increase overall company turnover. Alongside this, you will personally manage several strategic key accounts and play a major role in shaping the future growth of the business.

We sell direct container loads, trailer loads and pallet quantities to independent tile retailers, merchants and distributors throughout the UK. Previous experience within the tile industry would be an advantage but is by no means essential. Above all, we are looking for an exceptional salesperson with a proven history of driving sales growth, inspiring others and delivering results.

Our product offering combines exclusive collections with carefully selected core ranges sourced from some of the world's leading tile manufacturers. Supporting this is an excellent UK distribution infrastructure, substantial stockholding and an established reputation for reliability and service throughout the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a nationwide team of three Area Sales Managers.
  • Coach and support the team in identifying, opening and developing new customer accounts.
  • Manage your own portfolio of strategic national and key accounts.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase turnover and market share.
  • Work alongside upper management to identify new business opportunities and commercial initiatives.
  • Monitor sales performance, set objectives and ensure targets are achieved.
  • Build strong relationships with customers across the UK and represent the business professionally at all times.
  • Travel nationally as required to support both customers and your sales team.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in a senior B2B field sales or sales management role.
  • A demonstrable track record of growing sales and delivering profitable business.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • An instinctive salesperson with outstanding closing ability.
  • Commercially aware, ambitious and highly self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Tile industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
