Senior Employee Communications Advisor


Location: Birmingham

Contract Length: 6 Months

Day Rate: £350 per day (Inside IR35)


Role Summary


Step into a pivotal role where your voice shapes how people connect, engage and perform. As a Senior Employee Communications Advisor, you will bring clarity and energy to internal communications, helping colleagues stay informed, motivated and aligned with key priorities. You will work across multiple channels and campaigns, creating meaningful content and experiences that support both day to day delivery and major organisational initiatives.


Key Responsibilities


  • Create and deliver engaging internal communications across digital and traditional channels
  • Develop clear, consistent messaging that supports organisational priorities and employee understanding
  • Advise stakeholders on effective communication approaches and campaign planning
  • Write and design high quality content using formats such as articles, video and digital media
  • Manage and prioritise communication requests, often within fast moving timelines
  • Support the delivery of communication plans for projects and organisational change initiatives
  • Maintain and enhance internal communication channels to improve reach and engagement
  • Identify and recommend new tools or methods to strengthen communication effectiveness
  • Coordinate events and support senior leadership communications activity
  • Collaborate with teams across digital, creative and IT functions to deliver effective outputs


Essential Skills and Experience


  • Strong editorial and storytelling skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and engaging way
  • Experience working across a range of internal communication channels and platforms
  • Confidence in advising stakeholders and building collaborative relationships
  • Skilled in managing multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
  • Understanding of digital communication tools, including intranet and Microsoft 365
  • Experience supporting or delivering communication campaigns and initiatives
  • Ability to plan and coordinate events or internal engagement activities
  • Creative approach to content creation using different media formats
  • Proactive, organised and able to respond positively to changing demands
