Operational Excellence Manager – Waste & Transfer Stations

Midlands (with travel)

Up to £70,000 + Car + Benefits

We’re hiring an experienced Operational Excellence Manager to drive performance across a network of busy transfer stations.

This is a hands-on role focused on improving depot performance, standardising ways of working, and supporting underperforming sites to get back on track. You’ll be in and out of sites, working closely with depot teams, pushing best practice, and making real, measurable improvements.

What you’ll be doing:

• Driving operational improvement across multiple depots
• Standardising processes and implementing best practice
• Supporting struggling sites and lifting performance
• Leading audits, identifying gaps, and owning improvement plans
• Building performance metrics and dashboards to track progress
• Rolling out new processes and training teams
• Ensuring compliance across H&S and environmental standards

What we’re looking for:

• Strong operational leadership experience within waste / transfer stations
• Proven track record improving performance across multi-site operations
• Solid understanding of H&S and environmental compliance
• Confident communicator – able to influence teams on site
• Data-driven with a practical, hands-on approach
• Must hold Level 4 COTC (Waste Management)

The role:

• Midlands based with national travel
• Regular site presence required
• Occasional overnight stays
