Salary circa. £75K plus bonus.

The Corporate Governance - Financial Controls Advisor ensures the organisation maintains a robust governance framework, strong financial controls, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role provides expert guidance to senior leadership, designs and evaluates internal control systems, and supports risk management across the business. The advisor acts as a trusted partner to Finance, Audit, Legal, and the Board.

Key Responsibilities

• Governance Framework Oversight — Maintain and enhance corporate governance structures, ensuring alignment with UK Corporate Governance Code, Companies Act requirements, and internal policies.
• Financial Controls Management — Design, implement, and monitor financial control frameworks (including SOX‑style controls where applicable) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial reporting.
• Risk & Compliance Advisory — Partner with Risk and Compliance teams to identify control gaps, assess emerging risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Internal Audit Collaboration — Support internal audit planning, respond to audit findings, and drive remediation activities.
• Policy Development — Draft, update, and communicate governance and financial control policies, ensuring clarity and adoption across the organisation.
