One of the UK's leading Facilities Management (FM) providers, are looking to recruit a Critical Engineering Lead within the UK , with responsibility for overseeing procedure compliance across clients UK Critical facilities.



The UK Critical Environment Lead is accountable for the governance, assurance, and lifecycle performance of all Critical Facilities across the UK.



Working closely with both the Global Critical Facilities Director, the UK Engineering Director, the role provides strategic & technical leadership support across all Mission Critical and Critical sites ensuring high availability of environments, regulatory compliance, and long-term asset value.



This position ensures that operational excellence is underpinned by a high degree of technical excellence, process control whilst also driving risk management, innovation and continuous improvement across the UK critical estate.



The UK Critical Environment Lead must be a senior visible leader with regular visits to multiple sites throughout the UK.



We are looking for a qualified engineer, with an appreciation for Engineering Operations, but has progressed into compliance within the Critical Engineering space, while remains keen on career progression. Multi site experience is key.



Actions will include:




  • Lead the implementation of the Critical Environment Management Process across the UK Region, providing independent oversight and challenge to ensure uptime, safety, and compliance objectives are achieved.

  • Function as chair for the Technical Review Board, ensuring the correct planning, risk profile & approval status of critical work efforts within UK Region.

  • Establish, implement, and assure governance frameworks for mission-critical facilities across UK.

  • Make sure operational risk management is fully integrated in the UK and becomes second nature to teams responsible for managing vital facilities.

  • SME support of the Incident Management Team with critical environment Post Incident Reviews (PIR’s) including technical due diligence to ensure detailed root cause analysis.

  • Act as Technical SME in support of Engineering Operations across region.

  • Lead the implementation and scenario training of EOPs across Mission Critical & Critical sites within UK Region

  • Provide In Region management of the Change Management team and process.



We need from you:




  • Proven experience driving innovation, governance, and operational excellence at scale.

  • Chartered Engineer or member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CIBSE, IET, or equivalent).

  • Ideally experienced as an Authorised Person and/or Authorising Engineer in managing High Risk Works (HV and LV Electrical, Pressure Systems, Confined Spaces)

  • Credible senior technical leader able to challenge design, operations, and investment decisions.
