Legal Cashier (Part-Time – 4 Days)

£32,000 – £35,000 pro rata

9:00am – 5:00pm (4 days per week)

We are looking for an experienced Legal Cashier to join our growing Accounts team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a structured, professional environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and client care.

Working from our modern city centre office, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of client and office accounts while supporting a collaborative and friendly team.

The Role

As a Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and monitoring of client and office account transactions.

You’ll also provide cover for the Accounts Manager when required and work closely with fee earners, assistants, and the Costs Drafting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing and allocating cash on the accounting system (ALB)
• Handling daily banking of client and office monies
• Managing BACS payments and online transactions
• Monitoring and processing POAs and court fees
• Checking and posting bills and invoices (including LAA compliance)
• Supporting fee earners with ledger, invoice, and account queries
• Monitoring account balances and flagging potential SAR breaches
• Preparing monthly reports to support management accounts

What We’re Looking For

• Previous Legal Cashier experience
• Solid general accounts knowledge and high attention to detail
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems (ALB experience desirable)
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, professional approach
• High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
