Accounts Assistant (Contract)

Salary: £30,000 - £14 - £15 per hour

Location: Central Birmingham

Type: Rolling Contract

A great opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team on a contract basis. This role focuses primarily on Accounts Payable, while also offering exposure to Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and wider finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process invoices, payments, and manage supplier queries
• Maintain purchase ledger and monitor outstanding purchase orders
• Review and process staff expense claims in line with policy
• Support credit control, including chasing outstanding payments
• Assist with bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance
• Produce aged creditor/debtor reports
• Support VAT returns and provide wider finance team cover
• Help improve processes and ensure compliance across finance

About You

• Experience in a finance/Accounts Assistant role
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confident dealing with stakeholders and resolving queries
• Proactive and able to support across multiple finance areas
