Leader Recruitment Group Ltd is recruiting on behalf of an established children's residential care provider in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a nurturing and forward-thinking team dedicated to supporting vulnerable young people.

About The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home. You'll be instrumental in maintaining high standards of care, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, and fostering a positive, family-like environment for the young people in your care. This role comes with a clear path for progression, including support to step up into a Registered Manager position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in running the home in line with Ofsted standards and company policies
  • Lead and supervise a team of Residential Support Workers, including delivering supervisions and appraisals
  • Ensure personalised care plans meet the emotional, educational, and developmental needs of each young person
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stable environment
  • Liaise with families, social workers, and external agencies to promote positive outcomes
  • Support staff training and development, and take part in recruitment activities
  • Participate in on-call duties as part of the management rota
  • Uphold safeguarding practices and promote the welfare of young people at all times

About You

  • Previous experience in a senior or supervisory role within a children's residential setting is essential
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is required
  • Willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (if not already held)
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, care planning, and regulatory requirements
  • A caring, resilient, and professional approach to supporting young people
