The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Solicitor to play a key role in supporting Altera's diverse business units. You'll be an integral part of our legal department, providing crucial advice and support on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters. This role offers excellent exposure to commercial transactions, risk management, and the opportunity to truly embed yourself within the business.

What you'll be doing:

As a Corporate Solicitor at Altera/ Harris, you'll be advising our internal clients and supporting our business operations by:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements with clients and vendors, ensuring they align with our business objectives and mitigate risk.
  • Providing clear, practical, and commercially astute legal advice across Altera's business units on a wide spectrum of legal and regulatory issues.
  • Proactively identifying and advising on potential legal risks to minimise exposure for Altera, working closely with sales and business teams.
  • Participating in due diligence exercises and supporting the legal aspects of various commercial transactions as required.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to our sales and business organisations, helping them navigate legal complexities and understand the implications of licensing and other contracting principles.
  • Contributing to the broader Group Legal function, including developing and improving internal policies, processes, and legal templates.
  • Tackling a diverse scope of legal challenges where thorough analysis and a pragmatic approach are essential.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • A strong technical grounding in corporate and commercial law, ideally gained from a reputable law firm or in-house legal department. Digital healthcare background would be preferred.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to non-legal colleagues.
  • A pragmatic, commercially astute approach to providing legal advice.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, eager to work as part of a close-knit team and engage directly with the business.
