The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Production Manager to join our Birmingham team here at Fortem. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of operations, service control and resource planning for the Planned Works division, specifically the electrical elements of the works. This is a 6 month secondment opportunity.
The Project
You will be part of one of Fortems largest Social Housing contracts, Birmingham City Council. This is an expanding £50m Repairs & Maintenance, Capital Works and Retrofit contract and the largest social housing contract in Europe. We are responsible for over 22,500 properties in the Birmingham area including low, medium and a significant number of high-rise blocks. This is a fast paced, focused and dedicated contract which we have been re-awarded 3 times and we are very proud to be able to support this exceptional client.
Essential And Desirable Criteria
Production Manager responsibilities include: The management of the trades, service control and resource planning to achieve agreed KPIs and cost value to ensure continuous improvements Recruit, motivate and retain the best staff Maximise productivity Maintain high level of control of all assets including vehicle fleet, hired and owned plant and look at methods of improving these when required You will develop excellent relationships with internal teams and client representatives, supporting the branch in achieving agreed departmental budget Productivity and performance of delivered work in line with operational and commercial targets
Personal Qualities
The Production Manager will need the following experience: Essential: High level of communication skills verbal and written Operational experience working planned works Experience with writing reports Experience directly working in customers homes Experience working with testing equipment and meters Must hold electrical qualifications or equivalent to: City & Guilds 2391 - Level 3 in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations City & Guilds 2382 - Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671. Site management experience of planned works programmes including client communication and reporting skills relevant to the management of planned programmes HSEC experience including specific electrical compliance knowledge
