An innovative and fast-scaling organisation in the electric vehicle charging space is looking for an experienced System Engineer to lead the architecture and design of integrated battery and charging systems. With a growing international footprint and backing from key government initiatives, this company is delivering next-generation DC charging infrastructure across the UK and beyond. This role would suit someone with a background in energy storage, system integration, or power systems, who enjoys working cross-functionally to develop robust and scalable system designs for new product development.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the design of new product system architectures, creating documentation to define detailed engineering requirements
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production teams to ensure appropriate component specifications and quality procedures are in place
Conduct system performance analysis and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and in-service availability
Develop and maintain technical documentation to support product certification, compliance, and operation
Provide performance reporting and data-driven insights to improve system uptime and long-term reliability
Required Qualifications & Experience:Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in system integration, ideally within energy storage, EV charging, or solar power systems
Strong grasp of system architecture development, engineering processes, and product validation cycles
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities within a dynamic environment
Desirable Skills:Experience in solar and battery-to-grid connection schemes
Familiarity with EV charging communication protocols and integration
Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams to support product development and field validation
