Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking main contractor known for delivering a diverse portfolio of significant projects across various sectors, is seeking a talented Estimator to join their dynamic pre-construction team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing future projects and contributing to the continued growth of a successful business.

About the Role:

As an Estimator, you will be crucial in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a range of new build and refurbishment projects such as multi-storey residential blocks, student accommodation complexes, and significant industrial, commercial, and healthcare projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing detailed cost estimates for diverse construction projects.

  • Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, and specifications.

  • Collaborating closely with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Identifying and evaluating potential risks and opportunities within bids.

  • Supporting the pre-construction team in developing winning strategies.

  • Maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking an individual with a proven track record as an Estimator, ideally within a main contractor environment. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Solid experience in preparing comprehensive tenders for projects of varying values.

  • A strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes.

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising effectively at all levels.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

  • Relevant qualifications in construction or a related field are highly desirable.
