Mechanical Project Manager – HVAC & PlumbingLocation: Midlands (with travel across the UK and Ireland) Position Type: Full-Time Salary: £40,000 – £49,000 (dependent on experience) + Company Car + Private Pension

About the RoleA well-established building services contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of HVAC and plumbing projects across the UK and Ireland, supporting the successful delivery of mechanical packages in commercial, residential, and industrial environments.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, the company is looking for a capable and proactive individual who can oversee multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of HVAC and plumbing projects, from initial surveys through to commissioning and handover.
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings, site visits, and pre-start briefings.
  • Coordinate resources including direct labour and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and O&M manuals.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manage material procurement.
  • Track project performance, variations, costs, and ensure snag-free completion.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support bid proposals, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions.
  • Manage projects ranging in value from £20k to £1m.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience managing HVAC and mechanical building services projects.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, hot and cold water services, and sanitaryware installations.
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in Building Services (preferred).
  • CSCS card holder.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Competent with project documentation and working from CAD drawings.
  • Computer literate with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a hands-on and solution-driven approach.
